I witnessed a fire.
The typical composition title of primary school essays.
I have been writing such essays for those six years in primary school...
and i really witnessed one today.
Words that used in such essays are normally
-curious onlookers
-passer-bys
-firemen
-black smoke engulf the air
-screams
-petrified faces
-chaotic situation
etc...
The not so real imagination became so real today.
It started with an explosion sound, followed by this really smelly smell of burning. No one knew what happened. People just left and we were at the door wondering if the smell came from the kitchen. After checking through all the gas stoves and electrical appliances we concluded that the smell came from outside. So we didnt really care much and continued staying around the living room.
Than we saw black smoke engulfing the air, at the corridor area. And the phone rang. uncle called to say that there's a fire and asked us to evacuate. The adults went outside and saw the fire coming out from fifth floor.
The smell of the air is really really bad....
We dialled 995.
Sheryl and Sherlyn were scared stiff. Brought them into the kitchen to get some fresh air and a sweet berry mentoes.
Everyone else stayed at the living room, neighbours started running downstairs with wet hankys covering their mouths. But the adults decision was to stay. Besides the bad air everything seems okay.
Firemen came. the engine couldnt pass through as quickly cos the narrow car park had a few cars blocking. seriously. that isnt the smartest thing on earth to do...
the fire engine came and the firemen ran out to fix the hose. there was no water supply... tried from the other side. there was still no water supply. and time continued to tick away.
finally after running the hose through over to the next block... there was finally water supply.
i wouldnt dare to imagine the situation of no water and raging fire at that moment. luckily there wasnt anybody inside the house... but, what if there was? we really dun understand why there was no water.
sheryl and sherlyn were so excited to see firemen in action that they almost forgot about the choking co2 air.
suddenly my house block seemed like the centre of attraction. police cordoned off the area. the amount of ppl downstairs staring was... alot alot. and people like us peering out of the windows.
I witnessed a fire, really.
and. it is really scary. :(
And
here the story ends...
